The Girl Who Played With Fire
Original cover design for Stieg Larsson’s The Girl Who Played With Fire. The final cover is brighter, but ultimately less striking. It gorgeously incorporates the partially obscured Trade Gothic type motif of Larsson’s first book, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Designed one of my favorite cover artists, Peter Mendelsund.
His daughter drew up a version as well.
